He was wrong.
The undead simply
walked right at him, axe ready to swipe. It almost took him by surprise. He
dodged the overhead attack and cut at the left arm. It fell off, disconnected
from the body and dark powers within it.
It didn’t stop the
skeleton. It did make it stagger backwards, but it slashed again. He jumped
back, once again avoiding the blade. He heard her shout in fury somewhere behind him At least she was still
alive. He figured it was time to help her. He parried the next attack, moved
right up to the undead in a spin and decapitated it with a swift slash. It’s not like it’s
hard to sever the few bones
in the way. He turned around to see how his companion was faring.
in the way. He turned around to see how his companion was faring.
And then he saw a
skeleton right in front of him plunge an axe right into his leg.
That was the last
thing he saw. He fell to the ground. The soft leaves were the last thing
he felt.
he felt.
And then, there was
darkness.
