He cut the inner
discussion short as the two advanced. He slowly circled to the right, trying
to get the – presumably – weaker skeleton in between him and the other. A quick slash would knock it out and turn the fight into a duel. And so, once he aligned himself properly, he lurched forward and slashed.

He tried to be fast.
He hoped to be fast. He wished he had
more practice with a sword. But the way things had been years before, it just
wasn’t an option.
It was enough for the
clumsy skeleton. The blade cut through the ribcage before it was able to even
raise the axe. Bones shattered and flew into the air, once again. The axe fell
with a thud.
He backed off
immediately. Shortly afterwards an axe swept through the air where he’d been.
He blinked and raised his sword. The other skeleton was definitely faster, probably stronger. Not overly. Still, he
presented himself a bigger challenge.
He slowly resumed his
circulating move, keeping his sword in front. He expected the enemy to move in
circles with him, slowly testing each other.
